The second ZAC race of 2007, again on the circuit of Assen. I disassembled the engine partly. Cilinder, head en head gasket have been cleaned and reassambled carefully. I filled the cooling system and made sure all the air was out of it. This proofed to be enough to get rid of the problem of the bike loosing coolant!

Free practice
Because of the huge attendance (and an extra non-ZAC class) we got only about 15 minutes of practice. Maybe I did 4 laps. And most of it in a group I could not get past. Just as things started to get going the session was over! Best time was a disappointing 2:21.532.

Qualifying practice
Qualifying practice went a lot better. I went out early so I wouldn't get into much 'traffic'. That helped because I could ride around freely. That resulted in a time of 2:14.549, good for the 20th place on the grid in a field of 41 man/women.

Race 1
I wanted to do the start right this time! Give it some gas! But that resulted in a wheelie and I had to back of a bit. All in all it went reasonably well but I still lost places. I started the usual overtaking with the best one taking place just after Hoge Heide (the fastest part of the track!). I finished in 22nd place with a new personal record of 2:13.172. You can say it went well :-)

Race 2
Very soon after the start there was a code 60 that lasted 3 or 4 laps. I was in a group doing only 50 km/h but overtaking isn't allowed under code 60 so I just had to follow. When the green flag came out I lost a couple of places to some guys on faster bikes. I was stuck behind a couple of guys on 4-cilinder bikes. If I can't get on full throttle through Meeuwenmeer because of slower bikes than my lap is ruined (even if I managed to overtake someone on the outside in Ramshoek). 24th place, better wasn't possible.
