The last ZAC race of 2006, again at Assen.
Free practice
I didn't think free practice was going very well. It only lasted 5 laps. But I
did set a fastest lap that was faster then the one in august. So apperently it
went better then I thought. The laptime was 2:16.293.
Qualifying practice
This practice didn't go very well. I got stuck behinf a slower group and didn't
make enough effort to pass them. Fastest lap was 2:17.831.
But I did get a little bit of help from the organisers because they had
come up with a different way to form the starting grids for this race:
For every rider they took the fastest lap of the day, put them in a long list
and then divide that into 5 parts. That meant my laptime from the free practice
counted as fastest lap and I was 24th on the grid (of the S0, the slowest group).
Race 1
The start went reasonably well. En towards en in the Strubben I could pass
some people. After a couple of laps Arie Molenaar on his KR-1 and I were close
behinf a Fireblade. Arie wanted to out brake the Fireblade before the Haarbocht
but he crashed. I had to go straigt to avoid him and lost about 10 seconds. That
meant I had a clear track and that resulted in a couple of very consistent
and fast laptimes with 2:14.761 as my all time best. I finished in 27th position.
Race 2
Nothing special. I finished in 24th position.
